A 1.5 kilometer stretch with slopes that can generate speeds of 60-70 kph.
The race track is a stretch of Roy Padilla Sr. Hi-way, from a point near Gawad Kalinga in Matacong (bearing 14°01’20″N 122°51’00″E), down to a point before reaching the NASA housing area, spans somewhere around 1.5 kilometers from the start to the finish line (14°01’49″N 122°51’40″E).
With over ₱80,000.00 prize pot up for grabs, the said event is being done as part of Barangay Matacong’s Sighid Festival 2025, organized to produce a vibrant cultural celebration that reflects the community’s agricultural heritage and traditional handcrafted brooms.
The term “Sighid” is derived from a local action word (sweep) associated with brooms (walis) made from harvested Tiger Grass (for walis tambo or soft broom) and midribs of coconut leaves (for walis tingting).
