This was in the late 1990s, before “I Love You” virus caused a havoc almost twenty three years ago today.
Songs were converted into MP3s and shared among peers by bringing a computer’s internal hard drive into friends’ places, plugging it into their computers and exchanging copies of music collections within each other. Mind you, these sorts of things are illegal and not to be condoned – specially since it bypasses the rights of all those musicians from earning their share.
In any case, all those activities are in the past and are now part of history. Nowadays, we will hardly find a CD ROM drive and all those Audio CDs – if they are still in mint condition – may be inside boxes stocked in storage rooms.
Gone are the days
We are now in a world where music could be streamed from online platforms with free or various subscription models such as those provided by Apple Music, YouTube Music and Spotify.
